Defense Rankings

The bye weeks are here.  For Up-to-the-Minute Defensive Fantasy advice, email WinningFantasyFootball@Gmail.com

Ok, so we could sit here and mull through a ton of stats and data or I can give you a quick list of the Defenses that should be available to you.  I usually grab a new Defense each week attempting to play matchups.  Sometimes it works out…other times I wish Id held onto the other team.  In most NFL.com and ESPN.go.com leagues the following Defenses are available and are positioned to put up some points for your team.

WEEK 4

  1. Washington @ STL:  I like this for a few reasons.  Washington’s D-line looks great.  They are a bend, not break, which usually means field goals, not touchdowns.  and, the Rams arent smashing any scoring records as people believed before the season began.  Sam Bradford isnt Kyle Orton, as strange as that sounds.
  2. Atlanta @ SEA (questionable):  The obvious is Seattle is a tough place to travel to and play.  Its loud and probably as far away from ATL as you can be, literally and figuratively.
  3. Minnesota @ KC:  Both teams really havent shown us much, but if MIN sticks to the run and controls the clock, KC won’t score 17 points.
  4. NYG @ ARI:  If the Giants remember to run the ball 20+ times they can beat any team in this league.  NYG needs Ross to defend Fitzgerald as well as he had defended Philly’s wideouts last week.
  5. TB vs Colts:  If TB can hold ATL to 14 then they shouldnt have any trouble with Indy
  6. TEN @ CLE: The Titans have done a great job of managing turnovers and the clock.  If they can continue (without Britt) I dont see any trouble adding them, especially with their matchups after the Week 6 bye.
  7. BUF @ CIN: Buffalo may give up a ton of points, but they are exciting to watch and, if your league provides 5 pts to the winning D, grab them.

Trust me, if you have to reach further than this, you may as well keep the Defense you have!
