WEEK 8 POWER RANKINGS
GB still tops the list and NO and NE trade spots. NE was on bye in week 7. PIT, SF, & BAL are the next three. SF had a bye after a convincing win in DET. I think PIT got a good win in ARI. BAL, on the other hand, laid an egg on MNF in Jacksonville. I thought their worst performance was past them, but I was wrong. Kudos to JAC for getting a big win on a big stage. #7 -10 are BUF, DET, SD, CHI. BUF was on a bye, but DET looked anemic against ATL, so BUF gets the jump. SD had NYJ on the ropes and couldnt knock them out. This cost them a few spots. The Bears got a big road victory in London. Tampa hasnt travelled well and it helped CHI that Graham went out early with his Achilles injury. Regardless, CHI got the W and will continue to hunt down an NFC wildcard spot.
Week 5
Does the early Bye Week hurt Baltimore’s chances of making playoffs/winning SB46?
I would say, given the age of their defense, that the early bye week will begin to wear on Baltimore as the season progresses. If they can continue winning, then they could take advantage of possibly resting the players later, but we shall see. I recently heard that Ray Lewis hasnt eated fast food in 13 years!! I havent had it in 13 minutes, so good for him. It is a testiment to the man’s commitment to health and his on-field performance. More than likely, he still runs that locker room. If any of his motivation to succeed has rubbed off on the other, younger players Im betting Baltimore will be just fine.
Before the season began, I thought we would have an All-Bird superbowl with Baltimore facing Atlanta. Baltimore looks good…Atlanta, not so much. Its not too late for ATL to pull it together.
